Benchmark Hunting Tools
This site has a couple tools that can be used in working with and recovering NGS survey stations.
NGS»GPX
This utility, currently in version 2.x, allows input of an NGS datasheet and output it into a GPX file for use in many consumer GPS and Geocaching tools.
Version 3.x, currently in development, is a huge improvement on v2. Enhanced features include reading more file formats (including a shapefile containing NGS survey marks), output to other types of files including KML and CSV, and enhanced user-defined GPX field support for a wider-base of consumer and GIS applications. It will also support plug-ins, so that developers that want to extend the input and output capabilities on it may do so.
Google Earth Overlay
A simple and effective KML/KMZ overlay for Google Earth. Provides two data items that can be enabled or disabled on choice - NGS Stations, providing a pinpoint location of all of the passive NGS survey marks in their database, and an image overlay of the view with a USGS 1:24k Quad map.
